Location: 1-2 days on site in Utrecht
What you’ll do
- Build a new medium-term forecasting product that supports strategic decision-making
- Design and build scalable data pipelines using Python, PySpark or Polars, and Databricks
- Develop robust modelling logic and quality controls for reliable and explainable forecasts
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code including test automation and CI/CD structures
- Automate scenario analyses together with domain experts
- Work with platform teams to align the product with the broader forecasting platform
- Translate complex model requirements into sustainable technical solutions
- Continuously improve code quality, maintainability, and product stability
What you’ll bring
- Completed HBO or WO degree in applied mathematics, data science, AI, computer science, or similar
- Minimum 5 years of recent experience in Data Engineering or ML Engineering within Advanced Analytics or Data Science teams
- Experience building, testing, releasing, and maintaining data products in production
- Recent experience applying software and data engineering skills in the data domain
- Recent experience designing data products and making them available to end users
- Strong experience with Python and scalable data pipelines in the Azure cloud
- Experience with packages, APIs, CI/CD, and maintainable code practices
- Experience with production tooling such as Python, PySpark, Polars, Databricks, Git, MLflow, Docker, and Snowflake
- Strong focus on quality, testing, edge cases, and documentation
- Good communication skills and ability to work across technical and business teams
We’d love you to have (extra nice)
- Experience setting up mature DevOps or MLOps environments
- Ability to work in newly formed teams and bring technical direction
- Strong curiosity and a critical mindset when improving models and assumptions
